The Rio Rugby Festival - September 2016

Cirencester Primary School entered two rugby teams into a Tag Rugby tournament called 'The Rio Rugby Festival' on Tuesday 20th September 2016.

It was held at Cirencester Rugby Club and involved around twenty-five Primary Schools from all over Gloucestershire. It was a brilliant way of kicking off the competitive sports calendar at CPS.

Both teams played remarkably well considering the limited practice they had had prior to the event and showed a high level of ball handling skills. As a school, we represented the country of Japan and our A team won its second place pool coming a brilliant fifth out of twenty-five schools. A great achievement.

Our Japan B team came third in its fourth place pool and improved with every game it played. Both teams showed excellent determination, self-belief and respect to the other players.

Well done to both teams.
